To Whom It may Concern

This is to certify that I know Shri Vasantrao Hajirnis for the last 35 years. He was much respected head master of the O.K. Gindodiya High School, Dhule, when I first met him. After leaving Dhule, I had many occasions to meet him in his capacity as the coordinator of the Extension Services of the College of Education, Dhule. There he had earned goodwill and cooperation of all head masters and teachers by his sincere approach and persuasive power. This helped him in successfully discharging his duty as the coordinator and disseminator of innovative ideas among schools of Dhule District.
Two years back he approached me with a request to guide him for his Ph.d. in Education. I could not comply with his request as I had already crossed the age limit set by the university. However, he urged me to spare time for discussion occasionally. I readily accepted it looking at his ripe age and the indomitable spirit. We did have discussions and he seemed to have proceeded with due respect to the methodology. His is a unique endeavor of self analyzing his carrier objectively, and thus making available his experience and insight in field. As per University requirement he intends to give a seminar on the work done so far. It would be fair to give him an opportunity to present his work for scrutiny of experts and get feedback for further march on the path he has chosen.

I sincerely wish him success in his Endeavour.

To Whom so ever is concerned
Rf : Prof. V.G. Hajirnis

It is very difficult to pass a judgment about an individual because man behaves differently in various situations. However his attitude is reflected in his routine work. If on observes an individual in various situations, it is possible to find out the characteristics of his personality.
Many times one has the temptation to pass a judgment about an individual by observing him in social situations such as his ability to communicate with others, ability to impress others, or his ability to express through body language; however these are superficial and may not reveal the real picture of the person. It is therefore necessary to study such characteristic of the individual which distinguish him from other person.
I had the opportunity to observe Prof. V.G. Hajirnis in various situations pertaining to the academic field.
Whenever Prof. Hajirnis accepted any assignment, he tried to apply himself thoroughly. He would make adequate preparations for carrying out the assignment. He would not rush through without adequate preparation. This throws light on the attack of Sri Hajirnis. Once the activity is started, he could pursue it steadily till the end. He would not do the work half heartedly by making haste which may not be justified.
I have observed his leadership qualities when he was working as a co-ordinator of extension services to schools in Dhule district (Maharashtra). It is very difficult to get co-operation from the heads of the school, Shri Hajirnis would discuss the various issues with the headmasters and would persuade to co operate . He was able to conduct a number of activities in the district.
There are some persons who start the work in enthusiasm without adequate preparations. Then they find out progress is not satisfactory, they get discouraged and sometimes give up the activity. Prof. Hajirnis does not belong to this category. I have observed him when I was working as a editor for a series of workbooks for standards III, IV and v published by Shri Vidhya Prakashan , Pune 30.
As editor of the series, I had to make suggestions for improving the manuscript. Some authors do not appreciate the suggestion and try to make minor

Changes which may not be very significant Prof. Hajirnis showed positive attitude in this respect, he was prepared to accept the shortcomings, hence he could improve the manuscript, the workbook in history and civics prepared by Shri Hajirni’s because one of the best in series. This positive attitude throws light on one’s personality. This attitude helps an individual in making progress.
Habit of hard working and persistence were reflected in another activity namely preparing study material for students appearing for the N.T.S. examination. It was altogether a new activity and some persons found it difficult to give up their relationship. It is difficult to prepare thought provoking questions and one needs practice. Prof Hajirnis did not get discouraged; though hard work and persistence he prepared the study material as per expectations of the editor.
It is said that education is a lifelong process. There are some persons who do not try to learn anything new. They reach a stage of stagnation. Persons like Hajirnis are not content with the knowledge and skills achieved in the early years of the carrier. Prof. Hajirnis proved to be an asset to the college where he worked, because he was prepared to learn new techniques in the field of education.
Some persons get disturb even if something goes wrong in their day to day work. Prof. Hajirnis would study the situation and would try to find out the following in the process. This attack helps the individual remove the bundle and set the process on the right track.
I wish Prof. Hajirnis all success in his pursuit of excellence.

It is a matter of great pleasure for me to have gone through the outlines of the research and the projects completed by Prof. V.G. Hajirnis. In this work, he has explained both the quantitative and the qualitative methods. History and health also form a part of his research studies. A major part of the work is based on his experiences and devotional attitude. This is highly subjective part needs to be appreciated on its merit. I find this work quite useful for the students and teacher of pedagogy or education in my opinion such work is capable of acquainting the teachers and teacher education with new methodology and procedures of educational research. It will also enable the teachers to find solutions of day - today that they face while teaching and learning. This work also illustrates the belief that research is learnt by doing and taught by contagion.
Dr. Hajirnis has also made significant contribution to education by preparing study material for the talent search programme. He has also prepared workbooks in the subjects of history and civics. Unfortunately he had passed through some near death traumatic experience. He has also been able to overcome this stage through devotional practices. These religious and devotional practices have become an important part of his research methodology and procedures. This phase of experience can be very instructive and useful for others to face traumatic situations in life.
